Bush did give Enron a big favor. When Enron was extorting funds from California he got Bush to make sure that the Federal Government would not protect the consumers while the shakedown was in progress.

clear implication is that Enron may have been using its market dominance to set forward prices.

Even though Bush complied, Governor Gray Davis thwarted the thieves by buying long term power contracts elsewhere. So even though Bush's help was ineffective, he tried.

I'm surprised that the Dems aren't hollering the WH should have helped Enron...after all, look at all the employees and pension funds that got hurt.....

Aren't the Dems the ones who say they are for the "working people"????

Wait till we start untangling all the Union involvement in past WH decisions.... And 6 of the top 10 soft money providers for the Dem party were unions....!
