In wartime people do things for reasons other than a profit motive. Larry Ellison has offered ORCL software to help with ID cards free of charge. I expect if SUNW hardware were to be involved it would be on similar terms. I'd expect the same from IBM, MSFT or any other U.S. company.

Defense plays are another matter. The Raytheons, Lockheed-Martins, and Boeings are looking at huge order flows for many years to come.

Dear Steve: Last I knew about Gross Domestic Product was that it was a compilation of consumer goods sold, the rap on it then was it did not include Services which have become an ever and ever larger piece of American Pie. I dont recall if that has been corrected or not. jdn
