<<Shareholders praise the same skill when it is directed on their behalf. The idea that we would expect someone to do for us what we would condemn them doing for themselves... well, that too sticks uncomfortably in the folds of my mind. >>

It will be interesting to see if the employees who were so imprudently overweighted in ENE stock can recoup any of their losses via legal recourse, since the high value of the losses was largley due to the fraudulently-inflated stock prices of their employer.

Since some employees at Enron who were not officers clearly knew there was trouble and sold some or all of their stock in time, where's the cutoff between those who can be held fully responsible for their own bad judgement, and those employees who could be said to have little or no access to negative co gossip?

You made a very interesting and thought provoking post, John. I enjoyed it.
Victor

Nice post John!! I would only add that if I thought Cisco's current price was 'unfair' and loaded up on it, using margin to the hilt, would Cisco cover me if my bet went bad?? (Of course they need to do this only until my bet becomes 'good' <ggg>)...

Best regards,
John
