Hi K -

I do like to write, and I would love to be a published writer, but can never think of anything to say.

But I am a lawyer, so I do write all the time. Being a litigator is being a story teller, only you don't tell your story, you tell someone else's story.

And I am working on my history of the Great Depression. I started taking a class on History in New Media this semester, and we each have to set up a website with an historical topic. Mine is going to be on the gold standard interwar. I am also taking Money and Banking, an economics course, and my economics professor agreed to review my stuff I am writing for my website, to make sure it's ok.

I am trying to translate complicated economic ideas into language that intelligent high school students and undergraduates and other non-specialized people can understand.

There is a well-developed school of economic thought that blames the Great Depression on the gold exchange standard which replaced the old gold standard in the mid-1920's. The banks deliberately took actions to deflate prices, and the spiral of deflating prices led to a world wide macroeconomic collapse.
