Diana--I'm more sanguine about PGO than you. They certainly have a spotty past but have made some management changes in the past year (although their CEO is questionable). They seem to be righting the ship. Have had a string of stabilizing announcements including the VTS linkage, Atlantis sale, floating production systems decision in GOM and a set of deals with other companies. . I haven't heard many people criticize their technical expertise-- just their judgement in Company direction 1998-2000. I feel they have been overly punished for mistakes and are worth far more than 7 bucks. If they turn, they'll turn fast. I want to be sitting on my bloc of shares if that turn comes. If it doesn't, downside risk is limited due to cash flow. But I believe we will see something akin to buying panic in seismics within a year or so--good luck --Frank

diana g,

How can I ever forget?

SEI was down to $7.00…..it was at an all time low and I backed the truck up and loaded up at $7.25. It was one of the first times I went hog wild and bought more than would allow me to sleep at night.

Then we had this incredible discussion about how bad the management of SEI was and I dumped it all at $9.75 for a measly 39% profit in only two days.

From there it continued to climb to $23.03 in the next 9 months, and all I got was the crumbs!!!

Now diana g, SEI may have a controversial management, but that was a 4 banger in less than 12 months and you guys made me feel like I was taking the food out of the mouths of babes for even having given SEI a second thought.

I still have a soft spot of good old SEI, but this cycle I'm going for the 4 banger!!

Jim

PS: Going for a 4 banger with PGO also.....I think the merger will happen which is a big plus for PGO. VTS was the stand out last cycle in the seismic sector.

Diana-
I agree wholeheartedly with you. SEI has the type of management that makes you want to count your fingers after shaking hands.
I wouldn't own SEI under any legitimate circumstances, EVER!
(Sorry, Jim.)
It's one thing to be plain incompetent like PKD mgmt but, it's a whole 'nother thing for mgmt to snub their noses at the shareholders while lining their own pockets as fast as they can. Yep, even if everyone else bitches about it.

As for VTS, I'll wait for sub-$14, thank you.
