Question. If Ben is right and the sync channel issue is settled in February, <<can the QCOM ASIC based 1X phones currently in the system generally be upgraded to 307KBps with a software download>>, or will only newly purchased 1X phones support 307KBps. I understand that operators that convert btheir networks to Rel A (307 KBps) may make many fo the improperly designed NOK 95A phones cease to operate? I wonder when NOK ceased to distribute these non-standard 95A phones.

Interesting that 1X RTT Rel A may well be in subscriber hands out before WCDMA. I just can't figure out what it is that AT&T plans to use to compete <<GGGG>>
