Hi Michael,

Didn't Paul Simon have something to say about this?

"Must be 50 ways to lose your lover?"

So, I am grateful to you for providing that compendium of sins of the left. At least of the left wing of the Corporate Party.

But, alas, I think we are beyond that. What the media will be able to do, and what the internet community will clearly see, is that this is not a battle that will play out as an "inside baseball", inside the Beltway, Democrats vs. Republicans sort of battle. It won't have the same horribly partisan stench as Bob Barr and Ken Starr's Star Court proceedings against Clinton.

No. This will be portrayed in the press as a classic class war. One the one hand, you have the betrayal of the workers and small investors in End Run. And on the other side, you have the monsters of corporate greed, aided and abetted by their lap dog politicians of every color. That is the order of battle. Not as you hope. But as reality requires it to be. To snicker and cast this off as mere politics is to miss the point. This is a crisis moment in the confidence of the American people to be able to trust their leaders to do right by them. And the leaders are coming up short. And being shown to be mere grasping, greedy hucksters. That is the story here, Michael. No matter how you try to spin it.

Best, Ray

Looking more and more like the only difference between the Enron political contributions between the Dems and the Repubs is that Lay actually *got* something for his money with the former....
