Kent.1X Rel 0 seems slow to this guy. Well, It is better suited to phones and PDA's than laptops. To run a laptop, they really need Rel A which doubles the max data rates from 150K to 300K. Presumably the working data rates will double from 30-40K to 60-80K which will help a lot. I have run my lap top on 95A and it seems very slow -- but much better than nothing at all. Some areas that had Metricom got a taste of high speed wireless for laptops.

Using 1X to run a phone's smaller screen should work much better than to run a 14 inch laptop screen.

Does anyone know the downlink bandwidth Verizon has for their Express Network service in the San Francisco and East Bay areas? TIA

I hope Verizon or PCS really listen to this guy, that is there are serious wireless data users out there that are not contending with using data on their tiny phones only.

What the hell they are waiting for, EV-DO is right there ready to kick some serious butts.

KR - Anyone lese actually tried it? I'd like to have some more experiences before jumping to a conclusion. No-one in Korea ever talked about rates as low as this.

Is there a diference between screen sizes? Why?

Anyone in the huge area on the East Coast?

Lets hear some more experiences.

Best,

L
