Speaking of VR goggles...

I was in Sharper Image on Saturday and they had the Olympus Eye-Trek hooked up to a portable DVD player, so I checked it out. Image quality was better than I expected. It isn't stereo capable (not much stereo available, anyway), but there didn't seem to be any eyestrain in viewing with eyes focussed at infinity. You'd have to watch an entire movie to be sure. Each display has 240,000 pixels - must be (?) 800 x 300 - they're pushing the widescreen aspect. There's some graininess to the image at this resolution and distance. The price is down to $699.95. If they can double the resolution and halve the price, these things might start selling like hotcakes.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of resolution eMagin is talking about.
