I Dream of G.E.

...sorry for the cryptic post - usually, I am a wordy old birdy {grin}

on the popular chart generator, quote.com, DX02H - USDollar Index futures measures the USD -vs- other currencies, specifically against the Yen ( JY02H ) and the Euro ( EU02H or EC02H ).

...what I noticed was that the 'dollar index' looked kinda top-heavy, and that specie like GOLD, SILVER, COPPER, LUMBER, etc. were taking off: sort of a de facto inflation.

you could trade this by buying a basket of mining companies, or indices (ask Gersh) or, going long some other basic material-tracking vehicle.

OTOH, I was attempting to lure our other two euro-centric Dudes, Jurgen & DJ, into a quasi-political discussion-cum-rant about pressure by U.S. manufacturers on Secretary O'Neil and the Treasury to push the dollar down (^_^)

...also was wondering how long Dubya can keep the printing presses going pppppbbbbbbbltltltltttttt! without having an adverse effect on the USD, 30Y Long Bond. OTOH, as sick as our economy must look to EuroLand, imho the Germans look even worse !

Happy Trading - it's a TraderBerney Market {grin} just stay on the right side of the VIX.X and the OEX-100 Put:Call ratio !!!
