you write:

Ted helps me not one whit with that kind of grandstanding.

Grandstanding or not, Ted David correctly called Ned Riley on the carpet for a bad call. Granted, making analyst make pie-in-the-sky calls months in advance isn't very fair, but what is and how else can it be handled? There's no easy way for an analyst to give realtime portfolio changes; and that's not the point of it anyway.

Sour grapes for you. Ted's interview wasn't supposed to help or hurt you.

I disagree with you. # 1, you own ELN, and understandably it hurts like hell right now to be long. #2 You can find plenty of diversity if you have 3 stock picks. Sorry. Ted David did what any self respecting financial journalist should do, MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE! Hey, Ned doesn't have to participate if he doesn't want to.

"I bought ELN the other day at $32. Ted helps me not one whit with that kind of grandstanding."

Is that what Ted's job is supposed to be? To help YOU (and every other long) with the value of their portfolios?

If you believe so, then you've popped the balloons of every poster here who has complained about CNBC's market coverage during the internet bubble. You'd have to say they were just doing their jobs for the then-current longs.
