chojiro,

BTW, did anyone notice how often today's sell off in the Dow was blamed on the Enron accounting and the possibility there might be other guilty companies?

I've not watched the market since last Wednesday, but I did notice something similar prior to Wednesday. One day the Dow fell about 200 points. The fall was consistently blamed by CNN reporters on Enronitis. The very next day the Dow gained about 150 points. Should that rise be explained by investors' confidence that there were no more Enrons? Of course not.

I've had CNN on all day long religiously since September 11. Prior to that I hardly ever watched television. Unfortunately, CNN has financial news reporting so I have to put up with the inane stuff Lou Dobbs and all the other reporters say on the air. I believe it's mostly garbage.
