Good response. That's what I wanted, a detailed counter to Chris Byron's arguments.

I would like to see them write down some receivables and a good portion of the "goodwill" because it confuses Joe public. This is a time to be squeaky clean, te error on the side of caution. If WorldCom took similar steps and came out with a statement boldly countering the slam articles that are floating around, I think the stock would rebound nicely. Some financial web sites have taken off on a similar bent as Byron's slam. This public whipping at a time when people are in a state of fear has trashed the stock to the point of being materially important to the company and it's shareholders. I think this has hit far beyond the threshold that deserves a detailed statement from management similar to that offered by the CEO of GE.
