Dan,

re: Now AMD has more of the key players from the Alpha development team.

In WWII, Russia got the peenemunde "FAB" and the line workers, while Braun and his key design team members went to the US.

The US ended up going to the moon, while Russia's program blew up on the launch pad.

The ultimate bizarre analogy... a new low for you Dan.

John

Dan, the russkies were actually ahead of us in rocket technology until JFK decided to throw many $billions into going to the moon. We blew up many many rockets to accomplish that task. Regardless, I think Intc has many Alpha people also ( not just line workers ).

Looks like AMD's buy of Alchemy went through...Now AMD has more of the key players from the Alpha development team.

Alpha development team people were at Alchemy? Anyway, how many of those guys does it take? Intel got at least a hundred Alpha dev. engineers in the Compaq switchover to Itanium saga last summer. Should be enough.

Ban Ban Blow Hard Dan - Re: "Now AMD has more of the key players from the Alpha development team. "

Now AMD has an additional 75 engineers/managers all with salaries and benefits, overhead associated with this company, and NO REVENUE whatsoever...

As well as interest payments on the money borrowed to buy this company.

Look for steeper losses from AMD in the future.
