FC, you're right, if the Market tanks we ALL do pay, since there will be a BIG price to pay. If the Market is properly re-valued the average 401K and cash fund will probably lose an additional 15-40%, especially if it is tech-laden. That would cause pretty bad ramifications in both the consumer and business sectors and thus the world economy, since they are all so tied together. Even if people are not in the Market at all, the recession that would ensue wouldn't be fun for anyone. Let's hope it doesn't. I think somebody out there needs to devise a way FAST to calm fears about accounting issues.
