Hopefully. The discussion has focused almost exclusively on PDAs, and PDAs as we know them will be dead before too much longer. PDAs are going to mutate, maybe they will become cellphones or cellphones will acquire PDA functions (this is the way I would bet). Or, a variant will hive off, picking up short range radio capability (either an 802.11 variant or something like Zigbee..). To be really useful, it would also gain streaming video and audio capability and would become a personal access device that would cruise between networks in buildings, stores, on the street in cities and at home. It would direct you to places you want to go, maybe direct you where the stupid screws are in the Big Orange Box, pick up entertainment like radio and TV or something else we can only guess at. Maybe play multi-player games. Probably lot's of things that we can't foresee at this point in time...

But a PDA as sort of a crippled desktop unit is breathing really funny right now...

to be frank i still don't know what you meant. what does "StrongARM already controlling such a large portion of the embedded market" mean for you and please some links to justify it.
