You're right, now that I think of it. They may never have the gumption to sue. Besides, the pattern in the past has been to work a deal, because neither side wants the courts to clarify the line between things covered by privilege and things not. I am sure they have been counting on that with their bluster.......

If the GAO wants to pressure the Administration they should be making a stink about the fact that in department after department, the books are so badly kept that the auditors are unable to do their (real) job.

It's not like there aren't scandals behind every door in the big marble palaces in Washington so they have to make things up like this Cheney crap.
