I don't mind the mediocre 3D abilities of the card, that's kind of extra, but an inability of the silicon sold in 2002 to support / fully utilize a glass tube monitor that I bought some 6 years ago in 2D is completely pathetic. There is absolutely no excuse for it. Even the lowest end Sis, and Via chipset far surpass the graphics in 815, (and come equally free).

I don't understand why you feel the need to defend indefensible. The graphics of 815 sold in 2002 is a completely indefensible POS by 2002 standards (and by 1999 standards as well).
