Note: This post is of a savage and extremely horrid nature, so please exit now if the terms of engagements of war different to what you understand them to be via t.v. news and those so called realistic war movies will cause you a concern that yes you have allowed and supported such. In the Sir Afred Hickchock tradition of "Gooood Evening" and then scaring the pants off you as you later pee into them pants as he shocks you not with sights and sounds of todays grossly detailed make-believe not-for-real t.v. and video games for your teenage children, but onlt whats needed for you to project using the limits of your imagination, which ofcourse is a Bell Curve + Attitude(problems) = ability for folks, to then take suggestions and make it into mental thoughts that reflect reality possible and past actual. (or) If you are waiting for the savage and extremely horrid examples to be delivered by me as stated above, then sorry you have not, as E.C. has not, "been there done that." I went through basic training and qualified with that rifle E.C. has written here and in past posts as being superior to that light weight "toy" he has bad words for. No problem really with information and opinions, do i. But when E.C. presents views obtained from a view of war, and he has already acknowledge he has only "been there and done that" throught the experiences of others, then i have to reflect on mine and compare notes. Message from E. Charters ... every latent psychotic who was in Vietnam will tell you, cleaning an M16 was a necessary chore... ... go back to the M14 or M1-1903 which were much more... ... I never could understand the need to... ... 300 yards and not reliably. This is called military thinking. A routine oxymoron. EC<:-} [end.] Rather than i babble on, let me simply say that E.C.'s "... I never could understand..." is the talk of one who knows that he has warrior potential, as in being able to go to war and kick @ss with a weapon such as a rifle. Myself being in the Marines 67-69 Vietnam with lots of big extra strong macho tough guys, it became clear that which becomes facts in all wars, or physical combat of deadly force, that until contact is made directly with incoming, until then no one can experience such outside of this event with any other mental or physical happening. Point is, many men who think themselves combat worthly are until it actually happens, fools who talk without doing that walk first. (or) @ssholes trying to exist in words of that which actual contact of deadly force can only supply. (or) so so much grief is being allocated to those folks who were directly at the 9/11 New York City twin towers, as if they have obtained and continued with a horror of an uncommon nature, and i say this is foolish thoughts generated by the news media to pump up an event to draw people's eyeballs to the commercials shown between the news story so as to pump up profits. (or) A soldier in Vietnam in the combat zone experienced an 9/11 and surprise surprise its war and you cannot leave and go home, but stay in the combat zone and experience another and another 9/11 type day over the 13 month tour of duty. o yes, forgot, unlike the 9/11 folks getting incoming, the war folks engaged other called the enemy in deadly force, meaning a 2-way street, as some of you get hurt and killed, and some of you have to do that hurting and killing of others. All wars, throughout history, big and small and some local fights etc (or) E.C. might you stop talking as if you "know" death of those who were assiociated with you on your side, and those you hurt and killed on the other side. (or) war is hell and should not be used like you do to extend your self-awared beliefs that you have "been there, done that" of a combat zone experience with you going throught it with the braveo and hardness and man'ness of a warrior to match that so called warrior spirit you have, or just believe you have. ak
