ajtj, I don't say there were not any forced evictions, but as far as know, it was the minority. Just as you personally know of one such family, I know of a full village that was begged by its neighboring Kibbutz to stay put, and they still left, and that Kibbutz kept that village "off limit" for a long time, assuming they will return. The problem of "refugee creation" is not unique to the Palestinians, what is unique here is that the problems was artificially kept alive for 50 years. In the last century Humanity has created 100 MM refugees, most of these other refugees problems are no longer refugees problems, but the Palestinian refugees problem. As you friend said, people must readjust to a new life and "move on".
