KT, >>The only risk is that it is no longer worth a thousand dollars when you get it. <g>

Now -- you tell me prices are going up, Wall Street keeps telling me inflation is dead.<g>

Am not smart enough to find a better place for short term emergency cash reserves.

Just noticed Central Fund of Canada (CEF) is running an ad on hte Kitco site and here's the link:

central.nas.net

I can't recommend them now because of the premium, but six months ago it was an awfully good way to get directly into gold and silver. I parked some money there and made a quick 5% or so. When the stock trades at NAV or below, it really is the perfect way to put money into physical gold and silver.

To All, Gravelly voiced folk singer Dave Van Ronk has passed away from cancer. He was 65. He was a favorite of mine during the 1960s, along with Bob Gibson, Phil Ochs and some goof named Dylan or something. I liked his solo albums, but he also did great work on collaborations with the likes of Peter Paul and Mary and some of the folks named above. I don't think he made as much money in his lifetime as one hot single makes today, but he was able to make a living doing what he loved.
