I agree, they are a pain. But it does move that particular heat source out of the box.

Guys, I am currently trying to silence my wife's 1Ghz Athlon which resides in a Micro-ATX case. What I did is replace the case fan and the cpu fan with versions that produce 20-26db instead of the 36+ db produced by the stock fans.
