EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 14, 2002-- Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinational corporations, today announced it is providing expanded network capacity and access across Asia-Pacific, South America and Canada for PeopleSoft (Nasdaq:PSFT - news), the world's leading provider of collaborative enterprise software. Infonet was selected to provide the company with network components used to internally deploy its flagship application, PeopleSoft 8, throughout these countries as well as expanding its network infrastructure to meet the demands of the company's anticipated growth.

To better optimize the network for utilizing the PeopleSoft 8 applications, the company has entered into an engagement with Infonet to profile and analyze the data traffic of PeopleSoft 8. Utilizing its patent-pending Network Analysis Program (NAP) methodology, Infonet consultants will baseline PeopleSoft's network performance and the behavior of its applications, then calculate the business benefits of alternative network designs. As a result of these findings, Infonet will help to determine the proper configuration and performance requirements for PeopleSoft's internal deployment of its world-renowned PeopleSoft 8 enterprise applications to maximize the performance of these applications and therefore generate an even greater ROI.

PeopleSoft is the premier provider of eBusiness applications that builds a collaborative network of customers, suppliers and employees. Its solutions provide the industry's most open and flexible eBusiness platform helping to run more than 4,700 organizations in 107 countries. PeopleSoft employs more than 8,000 people located across 48 countries.

With the launch of PeopleSoft 8 customer relationship management, supply chain management, human capital management and financial management applications, the company delivered the first and only pure Internet solution that enables companies to become collaborative enterprises.

For Neil Hennessy, PeopleSoft's Vice President of Engineering Information Technology, the challenge was one of reviewing and redefining the entire data network worldwide to create the global infrastructure the company's growth required. After evaluating proposals from over a dozen companies, PeopleSoft selected Infonet to support the organization throughout the regions of Asia-Pacific, South America and Canada. According to Hennessy, ``Infonet provides good prices, a very strong set of SLAs coupled with its NAP process that has the ability to prioritize the bandwidth applications require. These assets are unique among carriers. In addition, Infonet's agreements with other carriers enable us to retain better service within those regions.''

According to Richard Couturier, Infonet's Vice President and General Manager for Latin America and Canada, ``We are happy to be providing a robust networking solution for PeopleSoft and helping the company to optimize its critical ERP, CRM and SCM applications. By enabling PeopleSoft to better utilize its applications on real world networks, the company can continue to extend its leadership within the collaborative enterprise software market.''

Bill Thompson, Infonet's Vice President and General Manager for Asia-Pacific additionally observed, ``Our relationship with PeopleSoft is an example of how Infonet's expansion within Asia-Pacific enables us to provide our regional clients with a strong sales and support network, coupled with a comprehensive service portfolio, that results in the establishment of a solid communications infrastructure.''
