This strategic communications initiative supports Hartmann's conversion to a global SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. With close to one billion Euro in revenues in 2001, Hartmann staffs more than 10,000 employees and has wholly-owned subsidiary representation in 25 countries worldwide. The Hartmann brand consists of 12 different product lines, ranging from first aid and diagnostic products to bandages and baby care items. To avoid the cost of installing and maintaining separate ERP systems in individual countries, Hartmann installed a centralized SAP system in Heidenheim, Germany. In order to successfully manage this undertaking, Hartmann required a vendor who could provide comprehensive global reach, coupled with secure access to support their extensive global requirements.
