This strategic communications initiative supports Hartmann's conversion to a global SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. With close to one billion Euro in revenues in 2001, Hartmann staffs more than 10,000 employees and has wholly-owned subsidiary representation in 25 countries worldwide. The Hartmann brand consists of 12 different product lines, ranging from first aid and diagnostic products to bandages and baby care items. To avoid the cost of installing and maintaining separate ERP systems in individual countries, Hartmann installed a centralized SAP system in Heidenheim, Germany. In order to successfully manage this undertaking, Hartmann required a vendor who could provide comprehensive global reach, coupled with secure access to support their extensive global requirements. According to Eugen Grossegesse, Manager, International Networks at Hartmann, ``Our international operations currently generate more than half of our revenue. With this rapid growth, having a global network designed to deliver optimal performance for our mix of enterprise applications is extremely critical for our organization.'' After a comprehensive review of five potential suppliers, Infonet was selected to provide the communication requirements for Hartmann's SAP rollout in Heidenheim. ``Infonet's reliable international data network allows our systems to perform seamlessly and without interruption,'' Grossegesse said. ``After reviewing several suppliers, only Infonet provided the widest reach, the proven track record and the favorable price-performance ratio we were seeking. As a global company, we can rely on Infonet's ability to deliver a safe and secure exchange of essential corporate data across multiple platforms to our worldwide offices,'' he concluded. ``We are pleased to have been selected to be the global network partner of Paul Hartmann, especially against such intensive competition,'' commented Micheline Wens, Manager of Infonet Network Services Deutschland GmbH. ``This win underlines the success of our business model as our multinational clients continue to rely on Infonet's worldwide reach, innovative technology and flexible solutions to streamline their global networks.
