Hmmm... Cap ex down 25% in 2002, but saying new orders up 10-15% next quarter. Either future quarters new orders will trend down from next quarter for the remainder of 2002, or AMAT killing the competition and gaining mucho market share.
Or, heaven forbid, perhaps some obfuscation.
In any event, the longs should be rejoicing. This sector has absorbed all the bad news there is to be had, and the stock prices remain in bubbleland. One hears all this talk about firms upgrading so as to "distribute" then allow price to go down, but I rather doubt that. I just think throw out classic metrics like forward P/E, etc. because they are no longer meaningful.
