If AMD was stocking uPs, inventories would increase and not decrease.

I don't think AMD is overall increasing inventories of uPs in general, Morgan Duron may be the exception. But offset by much greater reduction of inventories of Tbird Athlon and Spitfire Durons, which hopefully went down. Flash inventories probably went down as well.

if you hold them as unpackaged, untested die, then the cost burden is relatively low.
