J.F., I too, am not aware of NATO troops being used in Vietnam. I believe that ANZAC troops supported the U.S. in Vietnam. I do not remember any NATO troops supporting American troops anytime in the Western Hemisphere either (respecting the Monroe Doctrine?). re:"turned the other way in Rwanda when the French and Dutch were there." With respect to Rwanda, I think you are referring to Belgian not Dutch. And as far as the French are concerned: The French were apparently no help in stopping the genocide. According to Frontline, less than helpful. pbs.org And President Clinton apologized about his (the United States) lack of action regarding Rawanda. Anyway, don't you agree that American was (is) a stabilizing influence to Europe?
