Frank ....

this is the one I use, and have found it acceptable ..
adsubtract.com
I have downloaded the FREE version, and after 30 days it tells me that "some more ads will penetrate" ...
that I can remedy this by purchase ....

I'm at the point of buying ....

it works fine with my system, and with Zone Alarm ...
I've no complaints ....

now, I do get 'some' ads popping up from time to time ....
say .... one every ten or so URLs .....
but
the stat section shows it has shortstopped more than twenty thousand ......
I've only been online about an hour total today ...visited mayhaps ten URLs ...
and it shows to have captured two hundred and ten ....
I've had to close out, maybe three-four ....

so, all in all, I'm happy .....

Uncle Frank,

I use Naviscope to block popup ads, general advertising, cookies and javascript. Unlike adsubtract, the version of Naviscope that I am using is free and does expire after thirty days.

You can download Naviscope from:

naviscope.com

Hi Frank,

Here's one more. I'm using CookieCop from the folks at PC Magazine. It's free and allows you to block cookies, banner ads, and pop-up ads on a per site basis.

I use PopupKiller. It has a database of common popups that it blocks automatically and when you do run across anew one it's two clicks to add it to your database. You can bypass the killer by holding down the shift key or temporarily disable it with a right click choice.
