Just trying to understand the gist of the rules, and after this question and answer, it's el comprendo.

You say you are allowed to buy and sell stock just once every month, and that this rule was placed on the thread at the beginning of the month, does my (unfortunate) sell of PIL and short of CLS made on the 1st day of FEB. count as that one trade?

Am I understanding right? - what you're saying is that a buy at the beginning of the month and a subsequent sell and buy of another stock in the same month is within the rules... a three transaction play? Wording it like that might lessen the confusion.

ps. love this thread and learning about the discipline and implications behind the longer-duration trade/investment "goals". A few people nailed the timing of gold nicely......
