The SOX was up 3.89 percent today, and leading the charge in the 1st four places were the 4 semi-equips in the group,

1. TER - 7.84 percent
2. AMAT - 7.27 percent
3. KLAC - 6.76 percent
4. NVLS - 6.63 percent

While other stocks in the SOX were up, none were even close to the semi-equips. LSI in the number 5 spot was up 4.20 percent.

The AMAT results last night obviously had a big impact on the entire semi-equip group. As a matter of fact, the group of 29 semi-equip stocks today was up 5.09 percent. All 29 stocks in the group were "green" for the day.

Now, what is likely tomorrow?

<<In the absence of bad news the group is likely to extend its gains at the open tomorrow.>>

I agree, but how long will it last? If I knew that, I could probably make some more money tomorrow.<gg> Certainly, I think the big gains were made today, and while there may be more tomorrow, I would expect any gains to be quite small compared to today. Today, there was very little up and down action - it started low in the morning and finished high at the end of the day - likely to be different tomorrow.
