Thanks...reading some of the subjects on that Aztec link, made me wonder how the Aztecs would view how we are treating the detainees in Gitmo....Probably would laugh themselves silly....and wish they could live in Gitmo too....

I didn't see (but only briefly looked) where they threw their prisoners down the steps....also the sacrifices of young girls to the gods....

did you read some of the places on the body they pierced? Yowich!

Social activities, in Tenochtitlan, were varied. One of the most well known game of the Aztecs is a game similar to modern basketball. In Tenochtitlan there were no formal spots, or courts for playing this game. Usually the participants would set up wooden posts for goals as needed. Betting was common over these games; both spectators and players took sides. Sometimes these games would become part of important religious ceremonies, and the ball players would represent such things as day and night, light and darkness, or even life and death. Often times either the losing or winning team was sacrificed after the game, depending on which was the goal of the game.
