I received a notice of the subpoena from SI and later I received a notice that they wouldn't release anything pending a motion to quash.

Here is the second, I lost the first...

VIA EMAIL ONLY

Dear Valued Silicon Investor Member:

Silicon Investor has received several communications declaring that
motions to quash will be filed for the subpoena to release subscriber
information in the case of Richard Marchese v. Gary Dobry, U.S. District
Court Case No. 00 C 5606 ("Dobry subpoena"). Upon good faith reliance
on the named parties filing motions to quash, Silicon Investor will not
release any subscriber information in response to the Dobry subpoena. If
you are one of the subscribers filing a motion to quash the Dobry
subpoena, please keep us informed of your matter.

Sincerely Yours,

Jan Riggs, Associate Paralegal

Yes, I got an email. But only because my email address hasn't changed since I signed up for SI in 1996. Many people have new ones now, and nobody, of course, thinks to notify SI. That's why they should tell people about these things by PM, not email.
