I won't comment on your being pessimistic or otherwise. I think it somewhat incorrect to label persons such, in particular if they show some ability to discern market signals.

It is obviously important to know when the probability is high for a strong movement, up or down, and react accordingly. I think this is what you are communicating, that now is one of those times.

I like you think it 'could' get messy. Not based on options, just a lot of different market signals. I don't know jack about delta hedging.

I can't make a case for a strong movement to the upside, even market idiocy is seemingly out, what with all the 'stuff' going on.
