Hal's Discussion Thread Updated 7/14/2002 (1)This is a place on SI to discuss Hal. (2) You can join Hal's Free Email List at groups.yahoo.com What is Hal ? (1)Hal is a computer model based on probability. Hal was born in 1969. (2)Hal closely follows a linear regression channel, that is why you see the Nasdaq with this channel. (3)Hal's Buy and Sell Signals are independent of the linear regression channel. (4)Hal does not predict, but looks for a high probability, that a change in trend has occurred. (5)Hal will now have a stop loss for the Nasdaq, so you can judge the RISK. (6)Hal is a Trend Follow not a Bottom Fisher. (7)Does Hal always make money? NO ! (8)Hal Buys are for a few days to a few weeks. (9)Once Hal gives a Buy Signal you can be aggressive by buying equal dollar amounts of The Q or conservative by buying QQQ (10)"The Q" = BRCD,BRCM,ELX,MERQ,QLGC Mr. Zeev keeps The Q updated. See his board. (11)The QQQ = the symbol for the Nasdaq 100 Index. You can trade QQQ just like a stock. (12)When HAL GIVES A SIGNAL I WILL SEND AN EMAIL. And post Signal on this Hal group. (13)Send questions to larrydudash2002@yahoo.com and I will try to answer them. In the process this list will grow too. ................................................. How to use Hal Buy Signals (1)Hal's past record uses the closing prices on the day of the buy signal. (2)You can use closing prices as limits the next day. (3)You could go over to Zeev's thread and wait until he has a buy cycle. (4)You can wait for a reasonable pull back. (5)When Hal gives a BUY SIGNAL it means there is high probability that the trend has changed to "UP" (6)Maybe you want to start day trading knowing that "UP" has high probability. (7)If you have other ways, please post them. ................................................ Larry Dudash | ||||||||||||
