Yes, our Tom is the Byron of "Byron's Nines". But he is not the one and only Tom Byron. There is another, who is possibly more famous than ours, and who specializes in numbers greater than nine.

There is, in fact, a sculpture named after Tom Byron which people buy to put on their desk in their office, especially stockbrokers and market advisers. I imagine the sculpture would also be an appropriate gift for certain government officials. I understand that the State President of SA has an extra-large version, painted black, on his mantlepiece.

Actually, I did have a suspicion that both Toms are one and the same person and that our one is really the other one when he is "off-duty" but our one strongly denies this.
