We hope so. The point is, we have no way of knowing. What we do know isn't good. What is needed is full disclosure of such treasonous nonsense. Follow-up interviews by the CIA’s internal historian Jack Pfeiffer (bottom of gwu.edu with some of those in charge show that the CIA efforts were a Keystone Kops effort, not because they were idiots, but precisely because these clandestine operations were intended to avoid any oversight, and didn't even know what each other were doing. That's a prescription for disaster on a huge scale, which we have certainly seen on other occasions and don't know about. There are many things occuring to ensure the same type of people are in charge -- no real investigation into the massive failures to prevent 9/11, to notify the President after the first hijackings, etc. Why is Tenet still in charge? Not only was he a Clinton holdover, he's presided over this disaster. Unbelievable. Why is Krongard promoted by Bush to Exec Director of CIA, when his most recent job was head of the firm that handled short-selling of UAL, MSDW and ML 4 days prior to 9/11? These were the airline, and two brokerage houses in the twin towers. Some concrete evidence that somebody knew something. Financial records are not being made public.
