well sunw could sit dead for 4 years and in year 5 go from $5 to $15 in a week

That's what I call a pretty improbable scenario. If SUNW sits dead for 4 years, then the company that enters year 5 will be unrecognizable as ever having been the "must own" company that we knew during the bubble. It will look more like SGI or Unisys, a negligible niche player skittering away from the footfalls of the big guys to stay alive (if it's alive at all). I hope it doesn't come to that, but if they don't get their act together in a lot sooner than 4 years, that's where it will be.

what about some Jan-04 10 call leaps, I think it goes for 3 bucks ...

so downside 3 bucks at most if it goes to hell !!!

if we double this year and double next year, it will be back to 36, the leaps will worth at least 26 bucks
that is almost a 10 bagger !!!

Sun Microsystems makes sense to be on the list at these prices ($8.90) since they have a great deal to bring to the replacement market in their USIII architecture and they also make a good point with regard to TCO. The problem is that they maintain such a high head count of quality employees which undoubtedly get paid quite a bit of money. All this with a capital spending drought going on. They have decided on strategies to go beyond the dot.com era, or at least target the dot.coms within companies where it is meaningful to expect enterprise network usage.
Many of Sun's other projects have never quite made it to market like Scott McNealy's magic Java ring and embedded java in appliances. Where is that?

Sun needs to buy back a ton of their own shares because they are a real good buy right now.

5 Star Rating, Whew! I hope so.

Sun Micro will be one of the companies that will be around 5 years from now
