Nice post but lets work on some of these definitions.

"War is Murder"
Murder is the unjust killing of another human being. It is not unjust to kill the rattlesnake while warding off its deadly strike. That is self defense. It is not unjust killing if an assailant dies against your to blocking defenses.

"Until such a time as people reject the power of government to govern, to tax, to legislate, and to punish, war will never stop.
At such a time these rejectors will also have given marading tyrannists the power to rob, rape, pillage, enslave, oppress and destroy their fellow human beings unrestrained.

When war saves lives it is not murderous. Can you deny the reality that *far* more people would be dead today in Afghanistan without our war effort?

What is your goal? Saving innocent lives from torture, starvation, poverty, slavery and brutality, or sitting on a high horse and pretending it doesn't matter if I we nothing, when doing nothing kills millions?

The fact is our war effort saved many thousands of lives, perhaps even millions from starvation. When the battle is just, good people will follow their conscience and do what is right for the greater good.

Not only has our war effort thus far saved lives. But through the extermination of terrorist cells has no doubt saved thousands in the future.

Pacifists may believe it is morally right to idly sit-by and watch people starve and be tortured to death. But that's the main reason they are such a small radical fringe group of idealistic foolish people.

USMC Brig. General Smedley Butler on WAR, A Gangster for Capitalism, Speech given in 1935

"War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses....

The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6% over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100%. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism.

It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism.
I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service.

I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested.

During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents.

..........................................................
Smedley Butler was called upon by lawyers representing the House of Morgan to effectuate a coup d'etat in the mid-1930's, removing that traitor to his class, Franklin D. Roosevelt from office. Butler blew the whistle and the conspiracy was brought to a halt. But Morgan was too powerful to be brought to task. Some things never change. So, how about the exposure of JPM in the OTC derivatives markets today? Talk about financial brinksmanship. Ooh la la.

Now what's all this about an "Axle of Evil Knievel"?

Cordially, Ray

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a
farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come
back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war:
neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is
understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the
policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is
a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist
dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the
bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are
being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and
exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
