John, I agree with 1 and 2 but it may be more cache. Also, why is AMD pumping up Tbred if clawhammer is less than 10 months away? It makes me nervous.

I would guess 1) better branch prediction and 2) larger cache.

I don't think SSE2 is in the cards until the Hammers. Could be wrong, though.

There is a guy on Aces board who predicts a better branch prediction:

Here is a hint, look at what they did to the branch prediction table. Or perhaps I should say the new pre-branch predction history tables(yes that is tables, not table). Branch prediction at 99.99999 percent with only 0.25 -0.50 cycle misprediction penalty anyone?
