Not at all. In a world full of places where "might makes right," we're one of the few that has a peaceful change of elected government officials on a predictable schedule and have liberated and defended others' ability to do so -- sometimes at the point of a gun.

If our aims were truly imperialist, those 2,000 foreign military outposts (if true) and that 50% of the world's budget on military hardware (if true) could have taken over just about any place we wanted to.

<edit>

If we base our actions on your unproven assertion "...that perhaps a majority of the planet's population consider us to be the "Evil Empire," we'll be in big trouble.

Less than 25% of all U.S. citizens even know who their Congressional representative is. What's that say about what you contend to be the "informed" opinion on international politics and economics of the masses around the world?

Such an intellectually dishonest joker you are.

Are you nuts? You're question is dishonest and you know it... without the United States, all of Europe would be speaking Nazi German today... we already defeated one evil empire in WW II and saved Europe from total destruction, then we built their cities, and then we forgave their loans... now you say they call us evil? Your head is on backwards.....
