GZ,

Go back and read an honest account of WWII. You'll find that the Russians lost about 23,000,000 citizens, and the US lost about 300,000. We stalled D-Day for at least a year from when it could have been organized so that the brunt of Hitler's fury would be absorbed on the Eastern Front, and we would come in for a mop up with relatively few casualties. FDR and Churchill weren't exactly fools about this realpolitic stuff, after all.

Our chest thumping about winning WWII is at least partially disingenuous, IMO.
