Sure, but then this isn't a 100 dollar chip addressing a sub $2-3k market ;-)

Total system cost for a low-end McKinley system are likely to be around the $10k mark (cheapest Merced systems run around $8k).

I don't know what Intel can get away with charging for a single processor + mobo combo, but a few thousand dollars sounds probable.
