What I meant by that statement is that it appears he is the product of a group of men, probably headed by Cheney and his father, who make the key decisions and then pablum feed it to Bush Jr. I think that's why he makes so many mistakes speaking.......he doesn't "own" what he is saying.


Look, GWB is a smart fellow. He may not be 'slick' like Clinton/Gore, but there is substance there. You can try and deny it all you want, but being President requires leadership and decision making skills. The fact that he is such a good manager that he surrounds himself with the best and brightest does not mean that he isn't in charge.

GWB is real. His public performance is not the most important thing there is. Clinton/Gore were more actors than leaders. Reagan was an actor long before he was President. He was a leader while he was in that role (enough of one to convince a congress that was against him to come around on important things).

Leadership does not mean you have to make everybody happy. After all, if you always go with popular opinion, you are a follower not a leader.
