Actually, I did not say that creationism should be taught. In fact, I expressly said that I thought it should not be. My only point had to do with the relative weight of the issues involved, and whether it was just a waste of time to air them.

I do not acknowledge that it would have no affect. I expressly said that one couldn't tell without trying it. What is ignorant and frivolous about showing that there is a degree of consensus, among the respected traditions of the world, about common decency? Besides, there is nothing in my suggestion precluding a good quote from an atheist or agnostic icon, as long as it is germane to the idea of supporting decent, constructive, and considerate behavior.

"Intelligent Design theory" is no more a poor science than the theory of evolution. In each case "how the universe began" is "faith driven" not scientific fact.
