Gottfired,

How do you expect to expect programmer's editor for 50 cents in a world with 2500 programmers? What's in it wor the author? $1250?

I think your metrics need some reality.

Joe

Gottfried, There is indeed a need for a micropayament plan for books as well.
take all players out of the loop in a book and give the author 50 cents. he will make more than he does not when I buy a book for $10 and he will get it right now, not after the publishers audits the sale/returns.wasted etc.
Same as SW, get other out of the loop.
You will need SW keys to prevent free spread, but at 20-50 cents most will pay, get their key and read/run the data.
Si far the publishers have failed to grasp this, both in SW and books. they want e-books to sell for the same price as retail. Look at all the SW on line at $29.95. just a data streamThat is what killed King's recent effort.
The publishers are deathly afraid of this disintermediation(intermediaries go away)
So let's get a micropayment scheme running now.

VISA/ is useless since it has a 20-30 cent min fee.
