$TVOLQ gives Nasdaq volume in Esignal. It is total Nas vol rather than NDX vol but it is a better match than QQQ vol. Like you say, QQQ vol trends are similar to those for NDX - except at major areas of overhead, which is when it matters. QQQ price/vol action can indicate a turn where the Nas vol shows no turn is likely.

The patterns on 15 min and longer periods for NDX and QQQ are similar, but QQQ can move out of whack with what the level of the underlying stocks dictates by as much as 1%. When that happens, it tends to snap back in the other direction within minutes. I trade off that sometimes for a nice few-minutes gain. Not sure what you mean about NDX and QQQ spreads being similar. NDX has no spread.

Good luck waiting for the recovery. I am not holding my breath but I have been wrong before.
