Gottfried,

RE:"There is something called PayPal that already exists, but I have never used it."

As I wrote, we need a reliable org. Not a USA co.

I apologize for suggesting a free market solution rather than a communist or government operated one.

As far as the class action suit is concerned, anytime anybody is making money, their is someone who wants to steal it, and a lawyer who will help (in order to get his cut of the loot).

PS: The way you describe the software situation, LINUX exist only in my dream world.

I am surprised that it went as far as it did. I always believed there is a limit to how much time is going to be donated at the expense of time spent with families or other worthy causes such as getting drunk and trying to get laid - oops, scratch all of what I said, I forgot the profile of a typical Linux developer, who does none of that.

But I don't know if you noticed, Linux is being transformed, and some people who work with Linux are actually making money (sorry to break it to you, I know it is against your philosophy).

There was a decent amount of money raised in the IPOs during the Linux bubble, and there is a fair amount of sponsored development, such as IBM, or even AMD paying money (oops, there I go again) to SUSE to develop x86-64 version of Linux.
