Re: but you forgot to count the bullets.

Just what in the world are we doing cuddling up to hundreds of front companies working for the PLA? Do you not suppose that eventually their production of bullets will greatly exceed our own as we continue to hollow out our manufacturing sector?

We may be the most insane participant in the arms game, but we clearly aren't going to be able to sustain the advantage permanently without bankrupting this country. If you look at the real debt burdens of this country, the parlous state of the banking and financial markets, the interventions that the FRB is already taking in order to stave of an economic depression and add to the mix a dangerously mis-guided policy of rampant militarism, I think you have an extremely frothy mix that can blow up in our face in mostly unexpected ways.

Our insane policies of spending billions of dollars of national treasury in order to protect not many millions of private profits for the like of an Oxy Pete in Putumayo is pathetic and palpably prostrating to the body politic. We are being enslaved with a national debt to pay for a protection racket for profiteers. This is nuts.

Of course, I recognize you don't see things this way. You probably see our bone-headed sucking up to Oxy as a jobs program for your buddies.

All the best, Ray
