I wouldn't doubt it. And what's interesting is the US involvement in Georgia, likely as a quid pro quo with Russia, in order to gain their support for operations against Iraq. US forces may be getting in place to "close the back door" to Chechen rebels who have been staging out of that country.

What I'm interested in is what "arrangement" has been made with regard to Azerbijian, especially given the active Armenian political community here in the US.

I still opine that any operations against Iraq will likely be SpecOps oriented, in support of local rebel groups directing US air support against Iraqi military formations.

Gotta post this WP article wrt US readiness:

washingtonpost.com

As you know, you and I disagree on airlift capability, but I'll leave that discussion for another time and place.

Next stop Baghdad. Bet on it!

>>Small US Special Forces Contingents Thrust into Iraq<<

With the WP article stating that we need 6 months minimum to gear up for the fight, due to a shortage of smart bombs, it's clear the disinformation agency is already at work.

I only wonder whether it occurs before or after the Arab summit in March.

I fully expect to see Sharon strike hard at the Palestinians at the same time. A question mark arises over Iran then.... will it join the fray or will it be undergoing its next revolution?

And will Iraq launch....what? At whom? In a fight like this, he can make his best mark in pursuit of the power center of OPEC... Riyadh... and Tel Aviv...

Such grave musings on a beautiful sunny day, a day better suited for love. I pray for all the lives that will be lost, and the families that will be grieving, and hope the outcome restores some sanity to the world.
