seasonal adjustment and taking the average gain over the year to mute fluctuations. note that they also revised their statistical adjustments in January. it's also quite difficult to impute a 6 million annual sales rate from a mere 330,000 sales in one month. i noticed the realtor across the street, who is one of the top sales people in her office, was off about two weeks last month on vacation.

I loved your rant... have you ever read this book? It's one of my favorites. The contemporary style in housing would raise Mr. Alexander's ire for many reasons, among them the explicit totalitarian influences.
